Playmobil Promotional Classic Chrome Medieval Knight 40th Anniversary Nuremberg 2014 PRM010

FEATURES OF THE PLAYMOBIL PROMOTIONAL CLASSIC CHROME MEDIEVAL KNIGHT 40TH ANNIVERSARY NUREMBERG 2014 PRM010

One of the brand's most sought-after promotional pieces. The Playmobil Promotional Classic Chrome Medieval Knight 40th Anniversary PRM010 was made exclusively to be handed out at the 2014 Nuremberg Toy Fair (Spielwarenmesse), the international toy fair, to mark Playmobil's 40th anniversary (1974-2014). It was never sold to the public: it could not be bought, it was given away at the fair, and that is exactly what makes it a collector's piece.

The figure is a classic fixed-hand medieval knight, the original mould of the first Playmobil figures from 1974, in red, with a chrome torso, rounded helmet and sword in a glossy finish and a red shield matching the body. It comes in its original blue pillow box, with the knight illustration and the commemorative "40 playmobil Happy Birthday!" seal in gold and red.

WHY IS IT A SPECIAL PIECE?

Playmobil promotional figures are not part of the retail catalogue: they are produced in short runs for fairs, conventions or specific customers, and once they run out they are never restocked. This one combines three things collectors look for at once: it comes from the Nuremberg fair, it celebrates a milestone anniversary and it uses chrome, a finish Playmobil reserves for special editions. Keeping the original box also multiplies its value compared with the same figure loose.

WHERE TO USE THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY CHROME MEDIEVAL KNIGHT?

Its natural place is the display cabinet, alongside other Playmobil promotional figures and historic figures of the brand. It also shines as a highlight in a medieval castle or medieval village, where the chrome instantly sets it apart from the other knights. A very welcome gift for any veteran collector.
