Playmobil Promotional Golden Queen 40th Anniversary Nuremberg 2014 PRM012

FEATURES OF THE PLAYMOBIL PROMOTIONAL GOLDEN QUEEN 40TH ANNIVERSARY NUREMBERG 2014 PRM012

The chrome knight's companion and one of the brand's most eye-catching promotional figures. The Playmobil Promotional Golden Queen 40th Anniversary PRM012 was made exclusively to be given to visitors at the 2014 Nuremberg Toy Fair (Spielwarenmesse), the international toy fair, to mark Playmobil's 40th anniversary (1974-2014). The box itself says so in German and English: "Vielen Dank für Ihren Besuch! / Thank you for your visit!". It was never sold to the public, and that is what makes it a collector's piece.

The figure is a blonde queen in a raspberry-red dress, with a golden crown set with pink gems, matching necklace, golden overskirt with inlays and white apron. She holds a golden fan and the "40 playmobil Happy Birthday!" sign. The most sought-after feature of this reference is precisely its golden parts: the crown, fan and skirt in this finish exist only in this promotional. It comes in its original pillow box, with the commemorative "PLAYMOBIL 1974-2014" scroll.

WHY IS IT A SPECIAL PIECE?

Playmobil promotional figures are not part of the retail catalogue: they are produced in short runs for fairs and are never restocked. This queen also has something very few figures have: golden moulds that do not appear in any set ever sold. For those who collect pieces by finish, not just by character, she is one of the hardest to find. Keeping the original box multiplies her value compared with the loose figure.

WHERE TO USE THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY GOLDEN QUEEN?

Her place is the display cabinet, alongside other Playmobil promotional figures. She also reigns — quite literally — over any castle, palace or throne room scene, where the gold instantly sets her apart from other figures. And she is the natural partner of the chrome knight from the same 2014 series.
